Privacy Policy

Effective October 2026

Coachero is an AI-assisted fitness and nutrition coach. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who processes it. We collect only what the app needs to work, and we don't sell your data.

Information we collect

• Account. Your email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your name and Google account identifier.
• Fitness & nutrition data you enter. Workouts (exercises, sets, reps, weights), food and meal logs, calories and macronutrients, pantry items, body weight, body measurements, sleep hours, step counts, and journal notes.
• Content you submit for AI features. Photos of meals or nutrition labels, and questions you ask the in-app coach.
• Subscription and payment. If you buy Pro: your plan, subscription status and renewal date, and the identifier Stripe gives your customer record. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number.
• App usage. Which app features are used and how often (feature names and counts, not what you log), used to keep the app working and improve it.
• Technical data. Your IP address and basic request metadata, used for security, rate limiting, and diagnosing errors.

How we use it

• To provide the core app: logging, tracking, charts, and your energy balance.
• To generate AI features: coaching answers, weekly digests, a fitness profile, session summaries, and photo/label analysis.
• To process Pro payments, apply your plan, and send the subscription emails the law requires (receipts, renewal reminders, price-change notices).
• To keep the service secure and reliable, and to fix problems.

We do not use your fitness, nutrition or account data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

AI processing

When you use an AI feature, the relevant content (for example, a meal photo or your question, along with the fitness context needed to answer it) is sent to Anthropic to generate the response. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. AI output is an estimate and may be inaccurate; see our Terms.

Advertising (Android app only)

The Android app offers optional rewarded video ads, served by Google AdMob. Watching one unlocks extra uses of a feature for the day; you never have to watch one, and the web app shows no ads. To do this, the AdMob software in the app receives your device's advertising ID and standard ad-request information (such as device type, app version and approximate location from your IP address) when the app starts and when an ad is loaded, and uses it to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, under Google's own policies. When an ad finishes, Google tells our server which feature to credit and your Coachero account number, so the reward reaches the right account; it is never told your email, your name or anything you log.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EU and UK), the app asks for your consent before ads are personalised. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your device's Google settings.

Service providers

We share data only with the providers that run the service, each acting on our behalf:

• Anthropic: AI processing for the coaching features described above.
• Neon: database hosting (where your account and logs are stored).
• Render: application hosting.
• Google: sign-in, if you choose Google login.
• Resend: sending sign-in code emails.
• Stripe: payment processing for Pro subscriptions (your email, payment details and billing country; never anything you log).
• Google AdMob: rewarded video ads in the Android app, as described above.
• Groq: if you use voice input, audio is sent for speech-to-text transcription.
• Sentry: error diagnostics, when enabled (configured to exclude personal data).

Nutrition lookups (e.g. barcode and food databases) are outbound queries that do not include your personal data.

Your rights & choices

• Access & export. You can export your data from within the app.
• Deletion. You can delete your account, which removes your data from our database and cancels any Pro subscription. Stripe keeps its own record of past payments for as long as tax and financial law requires.
• Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated records. Backups and logs are retained for a limited period and then expire.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to production systems is restricted, and sign-in is protected by server-side sessions. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Coachero is intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
